6/13/22

dry grass firefly
hi bye, illuminated alumni went forth and multiplied
lit up the sky like the 44th of July
the moon beside just a black eye
no longer moves anything but the tides
old men use it for light to prepare to die
but tonight nature threw a flash grenade
to smash and cave the boring ways
to move like an accordion played
the stinging tail of the scorpion swayed
then lunged and plunged the poison munched
your stomach a sponge that absorbed the spray
anointed, his toes pointed like ballet
spiral arms of the galaxy a get-well-soon bouquet
or star hands shaking those of clay to melt away
trash cans taken to the end of the driveway
