8/22/21

I fatten myself on the plate
in a pigsty of heavy food
hush as I suck up a pool of grain
seizing it with teeth and tongue
like ants in the summer time
but I cannot climb over the walls
when I try, I slip and fall
and crash back down to the plate
unable to escape the village well
