Explanation of Phrase
1/31/2016
"Let no one ignorant of Geometry enter here."
Tradition has it that this phrase was engraved at the door of Plato's Academy.
After studying mathematics in college, I was aware of Plato's phrase. When I started Statisticool.com I wanted a similar phrase, but I didn't think the form of Plato's phrase was very inviting.
If you want people to actually learn a subject, you should not turn them away. Hence I came up with the phrase
"Let no one ignorant of Statistics leave here."
I hope this phrase clearly expresses my love of statistics and my goal for Statisticool.com.
